Hi all,

I have been working on a cover version album for quite a few months and it is finally done and ready to be released. 8 different singers from NY to London and Brussels, all working with home studio equipment.

I thought I let you have a listen.

www.theweathermen.net/LFV

I let it there for a while and will take it down in a few days so, enjoy. Or not Wink

thanx Karl.
Wichita Lineman. Isn't that song great or what ? So mysterious, so weird lyrics, so...camp (one has to remember it was a mainstream hit in the sixties, sung by Gary Campbell).

Biggest achievement so far is the mail I got from Angelo Badalamenti congratulating Julianne (the singer, from UK band All About Eve) and I for our warm and soulful cover version of Falling, the song he wrote with David Lynch for Twin Peaks (Julee Cruise sang that back in... long time ago Wink)

Dear Jean-Marc,

Angelo Badalamenti sent you an email? Fantastic! The interpretation of Falling sounds cool as well. Falling and Lineman are my favorites. There's a certain "space" feeling on all the tracks Surprised)

So, what you're gonna do with it?

Cheers, K

Well, we have found a home for this album which will come out in the springtime.
it's been hard but great to do.

it's been stupidly complicated to get the rights for covering the songs, up to the point of having one publishing company exec calling me and saying: "I give you a verbal agreement but will not commit this to paper"....pfffuuuu what's the point then ?
I love making music, but i hate the business side of it.

Yes, Angelo's mail was great and it really brightened up our days as you can imagine it was a difficult project to nourish and direct. Dealing with one singer is hard, now imagine 8 Smile

My favorite is Hurt, personally. I think there's something sooooo cold and brutal happening there, but it is said with an angel's voice. But Falling and its country western guitar does make me smile everytime.

Jean-Marc - Thanks for sharing this great piece of work with the rest of us!

I'm listening to it right now and my favourites have to be Hurt and Where the Wild Roses Grow - oh, and Falling... And all the other songs...

Ah, damnit, this is just one great collection of coverversions!

Very Happy

oh, i wasn't looking to fill her agenda, it's just funny to mix a Raphaëlian/Boticelli kind of beauty, baroque while celestial, with electronic generated music Smile
